The award-winning MOMs concept is a fresh approach to charitable fundraising that generates revenue as well as community spirit. A MOMs hike is a non-competitive day of scenic beauty, personal challenge and fun for women - mothers and non-moms alike. It's a day of celebration and reflection, good company in the great outdoors. Why not make it a new source of annual funding for your favorite organization?

 In the summer of 1995, high in the Sierra Nevada mountains, a few hundred women embarked on a hike. Their goal: to raise funds for art and technology programs for the local school district. Every year since then, the concept has evolved, the group expanded, the revenue multiplied - and the event has taken on a life and a remarkable spirit of its own. By 2001, women in Nevada City, California, population 2,800, had raised a total of $100,000. We've created the MOMs Handbook to put the power of this unique idea to work in communities everywhere.
